Sep. 3 Reflection

Today was the second day to practice presentations to our groups. In our group only one person had not gone, so we did watch the presentation and gave back feedback. One thing I liked about her presentation was that it was simple with the pictures. Most of the pictures were simple silhouette of people, and not much on it so it was easier to concentrate on the presentation. But, one thing that other people said and I agreed with is the amount of words she put in the slides. Thought the pictures were simple some parts had sentences explaining a certain disease and that made it hard for me to focus on what she was saying. Because she was the only one who hadn't presented we didn't have much to do after she was done. So, I started to fix my presentation. Today, the thing that I fixed was the one last thing page and I put the picture of the thing I was talking about ( The noble lit. prize) and not just a plain background. This gave the viewer a little more understanding of the reaso...

8/25 Reflection

Today we did our fine tunings on our presentation while Mr.Paterson taught the new kids all about the class. Because I did most of the presentation practice at home, there was not much to do today. But, I noticed that I did not do the flipgrid so I was practicing to do it at home. At the end of the class, Mr. Paterson told us that we did not have to do our presentation on Thursday. Even though I had most of the practice done at home, I was still relieved to know that I had more time to practice. One thing that I still need to practice is to talk louder. Because of COVID, we have to do the presentations with our masks on. As an effect of this, our voices would be more suppressed then it would usually be. Therefore, we have to project our voice more than usual. This is something that I would like to practice in the next class because we have time to do that.

The Corona Virus also known as COVID-9 caused many challenges throughout the semester for students all around the world.  We see a lot of negative aspects that arise in the pandemic includes the stay at home time, or the separated school, and the social distance class. But in our class (LE) some of these problems were not so much devastating as it seemed. For example for the quarantine time, because most of the work was already done online, it didn't seem to feel that different. Some parts like being able to work from home was actually a positive for this class. The only downside I had with this was that we were not able to do group work so it was hard to get assessments of other people. Even when we came to class as only have of us, the most difference I felt was that there were fewer people in the class, and most of the things we did were the same so I didn't feel much of a difference there too. But if I put LE aside and as a school in general, it was honestly really hard to ...

July 21 Reflection

Today we got our grades back for the essay,so we were told to fix mistakes on our essay. Some of these included wrong verb tense, awkward sentences, grammar issues, and plagiarism problems. Many of the grammar issues were those that were easy to fix, except for one part where I made the sentence unclear. One example of a grammar mistake was using "have" in a past tense sentence. Others were the title and the comment said that it sounded more like a sentence than a title. To fix this I think it would be better to make the title shorter and making it easier to read. For example, I could change it from "A sensational book teaching us about the importance of civilization" to something shorter

July 2 Reflection

We did not do much in today's class as Mr. Paterson gave us time to do our presentation and essay. One thing he did introduce us to is the Jalt association and it was interesting how people were able to get the chance to present in front of adults.

6/18 Reflection

Sorry for not posting on time, I forgot to publish the blog. We did not do much in today's class, as a lot of it was a review of the things we had to do in our presentation. Even though, there was not much new things, it was refreshing to hear the things we had to do. One top of that we saw and example of a good presentation. When I watched the presentation, some things that she emphasized on were different from the things I focused on. I would like to change some things with the amount of time we have.  One thing I am unsure about is about the summary. In my presentation I summarized the whole book, but after thinking about it later, I was wondering if the summary can just be the plot, setting and character. This would allow it to be short but may miss some of the problems and character change in the story.

6/4 Reflection

Today we were introduced to you tuber who analysis books in an unique way.  He is able to blend two things that may seem very bipolar. I liked his style of analyzing because how easy it is to understand and how it is very organized. Throughout his videos it was apparent that he used the same format in all of his videos. I think that this is one thing makes the video so easy to watch. Being able to know what he is going to talk about and when he is going to, it allows us to find what we seek and if he doesn't have what we are looking for, we can easily find a different. Not only was it organized and easy to watch it was also just fun to watch a unique style of presentation.  Today was also the last day of LE for the separated class. One thing I did find a little disappointing is how we were not able to work in groups. If it were a normal we would of probably had time to talk to the other members in out group and discuss problems about our essays. But because we were not able t...
